Communications & Marketing Leader — Broadcast · Public Affairs · Brand

The Lede

From the anchor desk to the boardroom

David spent a decade in local TV newsrooms across New York and North Carolina, producing live newscasts on hard deadlines and directing crews through breaking news and technical failures alike. That training — write tight, verify everything, never miss air — became the operating system for everything since.

He has since built a state agency's press operation from nothing to roughly 40 announcements a year, reintroduced a 140-year-old school's brand to a new generation of families, and is now bringing that same discipline to multifamily real estate marketing at Sunrise Management & Consulting. Along the way: governor's-office releases, a mascot with a merch line, a student-run broadcast studio, and a magazine relaunched from a year-end report into a stewardship piece donors actually read.

What colleagues say

Pulled from LinkedIn recommendations written by people who worked with David directly.

The surge in energy was immediate when David became director of marketing and communications at Holy Names. Suddenly, everyone promoting the institution had a hub for creative ideas. Brand standards were codified. The website took a quantum leap. And "Penny," AHN's mascot, made her debut — with David himself in the costume, once again demonstrating his willingness to do whatever it takes.

Ronald Ladouceur — Principal & Founder, POSTMTKG; Adjunct Professor, UAlbany & RPI. David was Ronald's client.

I have worked with many people in my 20 years in television news, and Dave is one I will always remember fondly. In a world of deadlines, tragic events, and never-ending stress, Dave always managed a positive, professional approach to producing a multi-hour newscast at the crack of dawn — first in the newsroom and last to leave.

Rebecca Kaple — President & CEO, Alcam Communications. Rebecca worked with David on the same team.

David had an exceptional skill set and keen insight into reaching and delivering the right messaging to the intended audience. He challenged me to explore different ways of thinking, and referenced current marketing trends while advocating for new avenues to meet goals. He was well respected by many.

Wendy Diefendorf, Ed.D. — Educational Professional. Wendy managed David directly.

Dave was a great manager and mentor throughout the summer I spent working with him at DASNY. He has extensive knowledge in public communications and always took the time to share his expertise. He held a high standard of professionalism and set a great example for the wider team.

Laura Ricci — Head of Talent Acquisition Operations, Bloomberg LP. Laura reported to David directly.

Dave remains a prominent example of what an employee and co-worker should exemplify in the workplace. His skill set and knowledge are always on the button, his attitude unwaveringly positive, and he exemplifies the true meaning of a team player — he makes everyone around him feel seen and heard.
